An American Patriot

In silent protest,
hearing the anthem playing
I stand on one knee.

  1. I cannot think of a more respectful protest.
Hermann Goring said when asked how they had managed to manupulate Germany’s population during WW2.
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.”

  2. I think Colin is one of the most courageous people on the world stage today. He has put everything on the line to help other less fortunate countrymen and women. If that is not patriotic perhaps it ought to be. I wasn’t around when Rosa Parks refused to leave her seat on the bus, but I suspect she had to endure some of the same nastinss and bullying too.
The mark of greatness in my view, is the extent to which we are prepared to grow and learn from our mistakes, Perhaps one day people will look at Colin the same way we now look at Rosa Parks.
